Definately the limit of navigation for the 6 berth cruisers.
4 berth cruisers may proceed with extreme caution, HOODS DOWN and SLOWLY.
Beware of sudden river level rises if during rainy seasons, you may not get back!

This is the view from one of our 2 - 4 berth cruisers as you pass under Osney Bridge. As you can see, there is not much clearance. Should the river rise, the screens can be removed. The canopies MUST ALWAYS BE LOWERED.

This arch has a nasty surprise for unwary skippers - drop beams inside, sometimes not visible on the approach - avoid at all costs.

Navigation is clearly marked but vessels tend to only use the port hand arch (going upstream) due to the bend of the river and sometimes overhanging branches.

Watermans Arms

Perhaps not the most scenic of riverside pubs but once inside the atmosphere of a real English pub is a joy. Real homecooked food with fresh veg. from the local allotment, reasonable prices and a good cellar. Owner operated. Situated on the short reach between Osney Bridge and Osney Lock. Visitors always made very welcome.
